I N T R O D U C T I O N
The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism’s State Historic Preservation Office and the Office of Connecticut State Archaeology are the lead agencies for preservation of the state's archaeological and historic heritage. The guide presented in this document provides references to documentary, architectural and archaeological survey reports conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding cultural resource protection. Surveys within this guide are housed in Archives & Special Collections at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, University of Connecticut Libraries in Storrs.

This guide is intended to provide researchers with an overview of the available literature and previously completed surveys. All of the documents listed in the inventory are archived in the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center. The surveys are organized by Town, Statewide, Regional or Thematic Survey and thereunder within three catagories -- Historical and Architectural, Archaeological and Documentation.
